Volunteer Title:  VIP Area Hospitality Assistant

Role: Assisting the hospitality team with the set up of the Marks and Spencer’s Hospitality breakfast. Greeting guests and distributing goody bags. Walking guests to their grandstand seats to view the parade. Greeting guests for lunch after the parade.

What to wear?

?     Wear warm clothes, a scarf & hat and comfortable shoes! Please wear clothing suitable for all weather conditions as you can never trust Ireland’s weather forecast.

?     Keep your belongings to a minimum as there is nowhere to store bags etc.

?     We will provide you with a hi?visibility jacket. After the event please return hi?visibility jacket to you manager.

Events: Big Day Out Festival, Dublin

Role: Assisting the manager, set up, take down, queue management, helping people while participating, assisting facilitators.

What to wear?

Volunteer Title:  Crossing Point Marshal

Role: There will be 2 volunteers at each crossing point throughout the parade route. Each crossing point will be marked with a letter. There are 21 crossing points in total. Your job will be to assist the 2 Gardaí when people want to cross across the parade route.

The most important thing is to make sure a Marching band or Pageant companies don’t get broken up by people passing through them. You will have a running order to check off and let the Gardaí know when each group has passed.

You will also act as stewards for general public answering their questions. You will be briefed by the Production Team on the morning of the Parade and assigned and brought to your crossing.

Volunteer Title: Disabled Platform Assistant

Role: Assisting guest to their seats on the Disabled Platform.

Volunteer Title: Pageant & Band Flag Carrier / Sponsorship Assistant

Role: You will be marching with the floats and pageant groups, carrying a banner or flag either at the front of a float or as part of a pageant.

The flag and equipment is not heavy in the slightest and should be no problem to carry. This is the only role that makes you part of the float on the Parade!

Volunteer Title: Parade Control Assistant / Signage Assistant

Role: You will be assisting the media and production team on the parade route signalising the marching bands when they are entering the TV camera and judging

zones. This is one of the most important roles. This role also gives you the best place to see all of the parade as it passes right under your nose.

Volunteer Title:  Grandstand Hospitality Assistant

Role: Assisting guest and dignitaries to their seats on the parade grandstands.
